Lo mejor del Monitoreo con OPMANAGER

Comentarios: Me encanta la herramienta por que es un gran apoyo en la administracion de infraestructura y sobretodo para asegurar el buen funcionamiento y tener un rapido tiempo de respuesta ante una falla.

Puntos a favor:

Es una herramienta muy amigable en el manejo mediante la interfaz grafica, adicional puedo monitorear varios dispositivos como server, url´s, router, firewalls, etc. y configurar los umbrales de alertamiento de acuerdo a mis necesidades, las alertas me llegan sin problema y adicional es muy actual y tiene mucha seguridad informatica

Contras:

La actividad que se realiza por parte del administrador solo se puede ver en logs y no mediante una interfaz grafica.

Alternativas consideradas: AppDynamics

Razones para elegir ManageEngine OpManager: Dynatrace Por el alto costo/beneficio ademas no es muy amigable y Nagios por la seguridad informatica ya que es una herramienta de codigo abierto ademas no es muy amigable

Software anterior: Dynatrace y Nagios Log Server

Razones para cambiar a ManageEngine OpManager: Appdynamic tiene un alto costo y me daba mas beneficios aunque tambien ocupa mas infraestructura por lo que yo necesito se adecuo muy bien opmanager.

ManageEngine OpManager

Comentarios: el monitoreos de la red y los servidores es mas factible, podemos recibir notificaciones por varias vías, y se disminuyeron los fallos de sistemas.

Puntos a favor:

El fácil manejo de las credenciales para añadir los dispositivos y añadirle los monitores correspondiente, la configuración de las alertas tienes muchas alternativa para hacerte saber que algo anda mal.

Contras:

todo perfecto por el momento con el sistema.

Opmanager is the easiest way to get a good insight in your systems and network for a fair price

Comentarios: For an acceptable price and easy to understand licensing (not like MS) you get a lot of functionality. If something is not working or not clear you just make a support ticket and most of the time they just call you, and using remote control they guide you through the process of configuration/setup. If some bug is detected or feature should be changed there is a Service Pack launched within days ! Just the best support organisation I ever contacted ...!

Puntos a favor:

The intuitive way to use the setup of devices and alerting for specific alarms. The Netflow plug-in is just the best to troubleshoot hick-ups on any LAN/WAN link.

Contras:

The rewriting/redesign of version 12 took some time to get used and to find again my way in the features/menus.

Alternativas consideradas: PRTG

Razones para elegir ManageEngine OpManager: The free Nagios or other alike platforms are nice but need a lot of setup issues to solve ... With OpManager and Netflow plugin it is all in the software included.

Razones para cambiar a ManageEngine OpManager: PRTG is maybe alike to OpManager but its pricing structure is not so interesting and the intuitive way of presenting things is not so "easy"...

Great Infrastructure monitoring tool at a reasonable price

Comentarios: It has been great so far. It's working well for us. We like that it's easy to setup & intuitive. Customer/ Tech support is always fantastic whenever we need help.

Puntos a favor:

We are using a few of their products. They work well, easy to use, intuitive. Their support team is knowledgeable & easy to work with. - Easy to setup. - Reasonable pricing. - We like the agentless monitoring. - Support team helped us during/ before/ after implementation.

Contras:

- Vmware physical CPUs cannot be monitored. There are 24 virtual CPUs & once the physical CPU goes over the threshold, there are too many alerts. - URL monitoring - kerberos is not supported. - Downtime alerts - OP manager & App manager have separate downtime scheduler. One overall downtime schedule would be convenient.

Alternativas consideradas: PRTG y Zabbix

Razones para elegir ManageEngine OpManager: It was being managed by a third party vendor. We wanted to bring it in-house to save money & to have a greater flexibility.

Razones para cambiar a ManageEngine OpManager: We are using a few of their products. They work well, easy to use, intuitive. Their support team is knowledgeable & easy to work with.

Decent Solution At A Reasonable Cost, But You Get What You Pay For

Puntos a favor:

We appreciate the ability to automate certain troubleshooting tasks by creating workflows. It's a basic feature, but makes a big difference for us.

Contras:

We consistently find issues where we have to report a problem or bug and wait for it to be resolved by another release, which inevitably breaks something else. We're in a constant state of having to update the software.

Easy to install, easy to maintain

How easy to install and integrate the system with all the other infra components.

Contras:

Dealing with the support for resolving some technical issues could sometimes be challenging, as sometimes we get 2 or three different replies from different support agents on the same ticket!

Ease of set up Agentless monitoring is supported which simplifies monitoring and management

Contras:

Some of the modules dont integrate perfectly, in terms of moving data between modules.

Razones para elegir ManageEngine OpManager: OpManager offers better reporting functionality and also has support for a wide variety of networking systems hence offering better visibility of one's network.

Razones para cambiar a ManageEngine OpManager: OpManager's licensing options are way lower in comparison to the competition yet it offers a vast array of functionality with a smooth learning curve.

Opmanager is a fantastic network monitoring tool at a fantastic price

Comentarios: Opmanager has been great for us. I feel like our network team is constantly finding new functions or features we didn't realize it had. It has so much that you have a challenging time taking it all in.

Puntos a favor:

Price. Like all ME products, they are very competitive with their pricing. For a non-profit like us, value really matters.Functionality. We get everything we'd every want from a solution without being nickle and dimed like other competitors. Opmanager does it all and can be customized for any type of network setup.Integration. Being able to have Opmanager integrate with Sdplus and other ME products really allows all our tools to work together as a cohesive whole.

Contras:

The time it takes for product support can to get back with you can be a little longer than anticipated. SSO needs some work. They have it down in some of their other products and I wish they'd pull over some of that successful code. Especially SSO when using the iphone app.

Alternativas consideradas: Auvik y SolarWinds Service Desk

Razones para elegir ManageEngine OpManager: Auvik was very pricey and had TOO much information, but not showing a lot of relevant info without a ton of changes.

Razones para cambiar a ManageEngine OpManager: Cost combined with the features we got for that price. This is on top of the integration we got with other ME products we already had.

Great IPAM solution for smaller businesses.

Comentarios: We started out using OpUtils for the IPAM solution. As we wanted a more feature rich application that can support more devices, more reporting, and a better network overview, we opted for OpManager. The Purchase and implementation of this product was easy and quick. We use multiple ManageEngine products and have always found them easy to setup, use, integrate with each other, and their support is solid.

Puntos a favor:

The setup of this product is easy and straight forward. It has a good management interface, easy to add devices and has a great IPAM interface.

Contras:

The biggest issue I have with this software is by default it includes menu options for features that aren't included but additional purchases after the fact. Some of these cannot be disabled and it's annoying. It also has alerts it pushes daily, for me the ipv6 alerts are driving me mad. We don't use this, and I can't turn this alert off, so I see it every time I login.

Alternativas consideradas: IPAM

Razones para cambiar a ManageEngine OpManager: The feature set for the money is just better. Maybe the interface isn't as pretty, but that's subjective anyways.

Comentarios: It has greatly improved our monitoring capabilities.

Timely and accurate alarms. The user interface is easy to use.

Contras:

Servicedesk Plus integration needs some work to better integrate the two systems. User management is cumbersome.

Comentarios: Very good experience overall with great visibility and reporting for Devices management

Multiple level monitoring various types of Devices and applications in one place makes it very comfortable management.

Contras:

Slowness and Sync issues sometimes which is little bit annoying

Comentarios: Extremely satisfied, been a client for 19+ yrs.

Policy configuration may need some guidance.

All in one product

Comentarios: i am getting instant alerts, bandwidth usage per port and connections, i can setup netflow and get app usage, firewall usage and rules monitoring, i am monitoring any device which has network connection.

Puntos a favor:

I like the most is the representation of the network in a map. The feature is called business view where i can add my different campuses in a google map and get several information through that. I actually have the map running in a big monitor and can see whether the connectivity is green or red. Also layer 2 maps where i can create maps within a site.

Contras:

setting up alarms might be difficult. sometimes you product MIB not there.

OpManager is one of the best in the industry

Comentarios: OpManager is a top application in our data center. We could not live without it!

Puntos a favor:

OpManager provides deep network monitoring, advanced alerting capabilities and providing reporting in a GUI format that's easily readable. We really love the alerting features for our network techs, it provides near real time notifications that a device or application is not responding.

Contras:

The upgrade process is a little cumbersome but once you've done a couple, it's a breeze. The upgrade process is consistent across all ManageEngine products.

Easy to use and provide insight of the environment and help to reduce spending time in RCA.Provide different modes of Notification services like Email, SMS, Automated ticketing and forwarding alerts to other Event Management product like Netcool etc as a means of SNMP Traps. Easy to configure and enable notifications.

Contras:

CXO dashboards not available to the customer expectations.

All in one Box-Monitoring SOlution

Comentarios: Monitoring of Servers and Network Devices.

Puntos a favor:

The Auto-discovery of Devices is the best feature. The Flexibility of using the Application is very smooth The Support services for ManageEngine Opmanager team is very prompt

Contras:

The Application Shutdown immediately once License expires. No Grace period provided.

Opmanager - great for monitoring and alerting

Comentarios: We get great visibility of our estate on an easy-to-view dashboard. Alerting is great sending tickets to our helpdesk system and SMS alerts directly out to support teams. This is great for out-of-hours support.

Puntos a favor:

SMS alerts - we can get critical alerts up to the minute if we have a system down which needs immediate attention.

Contras:

Config can be complicated in some cases and some devices are not supported "out of the box".

Contras:

We are using this tool from last 5 years. We cannot find any dislike.

Great product for its money

Comentarios: Overall, this product is well-made for people who need an overview of their entire network and can be very useful for troubleshooting problems.

Puntos a favor:

One of the best features of this product is having an overview of all the equipment in one place and you can easily monitor the status of your network.

Contras:

if the failover function were part of the standard tier would be great.

ManaEngine OpManager - Watching all your devices - 24/7

Comentarios: OpManager monitors our servers for up/down time, also logistical for resource management, like storage space, high utilization o0n RAM/CPU etc

Contras:

The current interface. The previous interface was more intuitive and easy to use
